GLENDALE RENOVATION: KITCHEN REVEAL

We met our clients at our initial consult and knew we were instant friends when she greeted us with dirty diet cokes (diet coke with coconut)! But seriously, we couldn’t have asked for better clients on this renovation. We remodeled a lot of their main floor – their kitchen, family room, living room and updated a few bathrooms. Today we are showing you the kitchen which was such a huge transformation! We said goodbye to about 50 roosters which was not so easy to do. Check out the before + then the afters!

BEFORE:

Our clients had a very cluttered, brown and country kitchen. They knew they wanted to brighten up their spaces, but weren’t sure how to do it. 6 weeks later, they had this…

AFTER:

Our clients told us they wanted a “farmhouse modern” renovation and we ran with it! We had so much fun.

We painted the cabinets white (as well as all the shutters), adding trim and molding to the top of the cabinets to bulk them up. We took the Carrara marble subway backsplash up to the ceiling to draw the ceiling up and give the kitchen a custom feel. And we absolutely love this faucet and farmhouse kitchen sink.

We fell in love with these dark metal textured pendants and knew they would finish off the kitchen perfectly! If you look across the kitchen, you can see that we added a barn door leading into the pantry. The handle on that door was the handle to part of our client’s childhood barn! Our clients also wanted open shelving so we took out the small bank of cabinets to the right of the refrigerator and put in the reclaimed shelves.

The hardware on the cabinets is the existing hardware, but we love the cupped drawer pulls. It’s hard to see in the photo, but we added shiplap above the hood and we love a good custom roman shade!

We talked our clients into a contrasting island color and went with Peppercorn by Sherwin Williams. We all love how it turned out!

We are 100% obsessed with the light over the kitchen table! Like heart palpitations, it is so good!

And here we are, in true form after a long day of installing! Just a little crazy… but so happy to do what we love.
