MY DREAM CHAIR

Hi guys!  I am so excited to share a little snippet of a friends living room makeover today.  I don’t know if you all remember, but several months ago I did a round-up of my favorite statement chairs and one of the chairs on the list was the Sven Charme Tan Chair by Article.  If you guys don’t know about Article.com (formerly Bryght) you have to check out their website ASAP.  They make the most amazing mid-century modern furniture pieces that are amazing quality, but like half the price of their competitors.  Score! 

Anyways, so I have been drooling over this dream chair for months and one of my friends actually bought one.  She is here today to share a little bit of her living room makeover and talk about the fabulousness that is the Sven Charme Chair.  I truly am so, so jealous!  Alright Julia, take it away!

Hi guys and thank you so much to Megan for having me here today!  I am so excited to share a little bit of my living room makeover with you guys.  I am neither a blogger or a designer, but Megan was so sweet to help give me a little guidance in making over our living room this year.  She is the one who pointed me in the direction of Article and the Sven Charme Chair.  For the living room, we wanted to go with a little bit of a mid-century vibe without it being too over the top.  This room was in desperate need of a makeover because we had not gotten a single new piece of furniture for the space in over ten years!!!  Between two young boys and a dog to say this space needed a little makeover was an understatement of the century.

We started by giving the space a fresh coat of paint.  Megan pointed me in the direction of Sherwin Williams Repose Gray and I absolutely love it!  It is a true grey without a ton of undertones to it and it is really light so it doesn’t make the space too heavy.  We rounded out the color palette with navy and pink accent colors.  In my mind you can never go wrong adding navy and pink to a space. I commissioned my dear friend Sarah Mason Art to do a painting for over the couch and I love how it turned out.  So moody and masculine (gotta keep the hubby happy).

Okay, now on the the star of the show….the dream chair.  To say that I am obsessed with the chair is the understatement of the century.  I wish I could invite all of you over to see it, because it is even better in person than it is in pictures.  The space and seating in the living room is limited, so we needed a chair that was small in scale, but could fit two people if need be.  This dream chair definitely delivers on that.  It is hands down the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in and can we talk about the leather for a minute?  Oh my gosh, the leather is amazing.  It is buttery soft and has the absolute perfect amount of distressing.  As I mentioned, with two boys and a puppy our furniture can take a beating and I love that this leather ages so beautifully and that any “distressing” that my kids might do to it only makes it more beautiful.  That dream chair is a mom win in my books for sure.

As Megan said in her post, this chair is truly a statement chair.  It is literally the first thing that people notice when they come in the room and seriously everyone loves it!  And I would be lying if I said I didn’t make every single person that walks in the door sit in the chair because it really is that comfortable.  I know I have gushed about this chair, but we seriously love it.  I highly recommend a purchase from Article.  I know it can be nerve wracking buying an investment piece of furniture sight unseen, but my experience with Article was amazing.  Do it!  I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I mean.  Look at that distressing!  I literally die.  I wish you guys could reach through the computer screen and see how soft it is!
