Happy Tuesday, friends! We are so excited to finally share our Palos Verdes Spanish Remodel (#palosverdesspanishremodel – check it out on our Instagram) with you! We met with our fabulous clients just about a year ago in their amazing home just a street from the beach. Such a dream! The main objective for our clients was an updated kitchen and family room while adding a laundry room to the home. Here are a few before photos so you get where we were coming from. The home has amazing wood floors (except the kitchen had this old tile) and charming Spanish architecture throughout so we knew with our remodel we wanted to keep with that but make everything more functional. Ok so here is what we walked into a year ago…
A cupboard kitchen that was super closed off and totally dysfunctional for a family of four. Erin (check out her blog here) has two adorable little girls and knew she needed a space her family could grow into. She had an awesome vision.

We knocked down a kitchen wall, opening up the kitchen to the family room which in turn gave us this amazing island and breakfast nook. The laundry room was added and the bathroom was moved (photos coming soon). We added these amazing reclaimed wood beams to connect the spaces, updated the fireplace and brought the wood floors throughout the space. We filled in the family room (notice the step up in the photo above) and really focused on making this a usable space. We knew bold lighting was a must and the gold fixtures and gold hardware really add the wow-factor. Now I am just wondering when I can move in!
We worked with Minted on this installation as we helped source the majority of the furniture and decor for our clients. All of the pillows, the gorgeous cake plate and our client’s favorite Get Cocky! print adds such a fun and unexpected pop of color. We used the Bold Watercolor and the Incomplete Herringbone pillows on the breakfast bench – we love how they cozied up the space!
One of my favorite parts of the kitchen is the table and chairs! I have a serious obsession with the white table top and dark wooden legs of the table and the shape of these chairs. And then the chandelier knocks it out of the park, if I can say so myself 😉
For the family room, we added one of our favorite dark quartz materials to the base of the fireplace and made it more of a statement in the room. Our goal was beautiful simplicity which I think we accomplished with the straight line pieces we chose and the overall neutral feeling of the room.
FAMILY ROOM RESOURCES:
COUCH (in Heather Tweed Charcoal) | COFFEE TABLE | RUG | BRAIDED HEMP POUFS
FLOOR POT | GOLD PILLOWS | GREY PILLOWS | BLUE SHIBORI PILLOW
GREY UPHOLSTERED BENCH | BASKET (similar) | SIDE TABLE | WOVEN CHAIR (similar) | BIRD PRINT

It’s always sad to finish up a project because we become friends with our clients. It sounds funny, but it’s true! We loved working with Erin and her crew. xo

Stunning! I am curious about the kitchen sources. The light over the kitchen table. The big faucet. They are beautiful!
